Governor Nathan Deal, Commissioner of Agriculture Gary Black and several hundred others will join together Tuesday, March 13 for the 9th Annual National Agricultural Week in Georgia Kick-Off Celebration & Georgia Food Festival at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta. The event will consist of food, music and exhibits. The Georgia Cotton Commission will host an exhibit and have brownies and blondies made using cottonseed oil to hand out to the attendees. Other commodity groups will also be present to showcase their industries.
The doors to the exhibits will open at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at 1:30 p.m. At 12:30 p.m., a special program will begin at 12:30 p.m. with Governor Deal and Commission Black. In addition, winners of the Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award for Agriculture and Flavors of Georgia contest will be announced. Anyone is welcome to attend.
