The Georgia Cotton Commission joined the National Cotton Council, other producer interest and ag trade organizations in opposing Amendment No. 2276, proposed by Jim DeMint (R-SC). The amendment proposes:
“No program to promote and provide research and information for a particular agricultural commodity without reference to specific producers or brands (commonly known as a “check-off rogram”) shall be mandatory or compulsory.”
